8 Ways To Lead A Happier Lifestyle

1. MAKE YOUR BED- Don't laugh, its true what they say you know.. 'start the day as you mean to go on'.

2. MEDITATE- Every day, twice a day. Take a few moments to gather your thoughts, in the morning before you get dressed, it will help you make better decisions throughout the day and I can guarantee you will sleep better, try it!

3. EAT WELL, LIVE WELL- It's no secret everyone feels more energetic when they eat healthier foods, so drop the Pringle packet and pick up a cucumber for once, or cut a few slices and put them on your eyes.

4. SMILE- It only uses 17 muscles compared to 43 muscles it takes to frown! Smiling also releases endorphins, the chemical which helps you bring about the feeling of euphoria and well-being so just..smile.

5. START YOGA- I recently turned to yoga after I went through an extremely stressful time last month when I experienced the break down of a friendship of over 10 years, there comes a time in life when you realise maybe it's better to part ways and accept the change so you can carry on lifes journey apart. Some people hold grudges, I go to yoga.. Our teacher lights incense sticks, plays relaxing music and allows you to meditate for 5 minutes at the end of each session. I always leave the class with a high and a more positive energy, so invest in some yoga clothes kids because it will be the best investment you've ever made.

6. INDULGE- Treat yourself, once a month or even once a week. Book a spa day, go for afternoon tea, or book a holiday, its important to reward yourself in this crazy world we live in.

7. NOURISH OR DELETE- Nourish your current friendships and delete any toxic people, life is  too short, so only surround yourself with positive people who exude good thoughts. Being around positive people will bring a vibrancy in your life!

8. STOP WORRYING ABOUT MONEY-I am guilty of this too don't worry, I tend to avoid looking at my bank balance and just hope for the best. Try to appreciate the things you have and stop yearning for the things you don't, they are just materials at the end of the day and its true what they say money does NOT bring you happiness, it can provide satisfaction but this is just a temporary fix.

Lots of Love,

Date Night

Photography www.ionamacleod.com

I am wearing;
Skirt- ASOS
Shoes- Aldo

Suede is officially taking over my wardrobe at the moment, the stores are littered with it and of course I've fallen straight into the mouse trap. This isn't the warmest of outfits for AW15 but it's definitely a great date outfit, shove on a leather jacket or a shearling coat and you're good to go. This top is from the reclaimed vintage collection ASOS does, if you keep your eyes peeled you can find a lot of bargains with the reclaimed section on ASOS! The temperature as dropped scarily fast over the past week, it's freeeezing! Keep a look out for my Winter outfits I will be posting over the next few weeks.

November Trimmings

This week I paid a visit to the award winning Brooks & Brooks salon in Holborn. The salon provides the warmth and intimacy of your hometown salon with a super-charged dose of styling know-how and impressive on trend credentials. The Salon was down a gorgeous avenue near Holborn, the street had a magical character about it, it reminded me of something out of Harry Potter. The whole process from start to finish was executed with the highest level of professionalism and I was pleasantly surprised.

The salon had a cool retro interior, the walls were covered in vintage frames and the room had a wonderful scent to it which I noticed came from their own branded candles! I was looked after by a woman called Kayleigh, who had the most wonderful energy about her. Kayleigh was a fountain of knowledge and I learned so many new tips and tricks from her, having had some bad experiences in the past with my hair I was extremely lucky to fall into the hands of Kayleigh who advised me on the best products to help me improve the condition of my hair. I left the salon with a real sense of achievement, I walked away with a handful of knowledge, a few new additions to my hair care regime and a more positive energy, I was extremely happy with the service received and will definitely be returning to the salon!

I am wearing;
Dress- Millie Macintosh
Bag- Free People
Boots- Aldo (Similar here)
Lace Up Top- Free People

I finally managed to get my mitts on this gorgeous suede dress from the Millie Mackintosh collection, and I have to say it really is the perfect dress for Winter. I have followed Millie for quiet some time on social media and I regularly use her for inspiration when it comes to makeup and fashion. You can style this dress up a few different ways which makes it very versatile which I love but my favourite way to wear it is definitely with a long sleeve top underneath, and of course in true Millie Mac style, wearing my suede knee high boots.

What I am wearing;
Top- Free People (Click here)
Skirt- Free People (click here for similar)
Boots- Aldo (click here for similar)
Scarf- Zara (click here for similar)

This month, I had the absolute pleasure of collaborating with one of my favourite brands, Free People. If you have been following my blog for a while, you will know how much I love Free People.  The whole morning was very special and will be something I will remember for a long time! I met Amanda on a cold crisp Saturday morning in Chelsea not too far from where I live, before the crowds settled in.

 We discovered a beautiful court yard where the trees were bursting with reds, oranges and golds oozing with Autumn. The leaves formed a crisp blanket across the courtyard under our feet, it was perfect. I usually shoot on a weekly basis with my best friend, soul mate and flat mate Iona so I am usually very comfortable in front of the camera. However, shooting for the first time with a professional photographer I had never met before was simply terrifying, but like everyone I have met that work for Free People, Amanda was such a lovely soul and she made me feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera! We shot four looks in total keep following to see more of of my FP shoot!

Leather Weather

Photography www.ionamacleod.com

What I am wearing;
Skirt- Urban Outfitters
Jumper- Free People
Shoes- Topshop

I love leather however in Summer, its a no go for me. Especially in London, on a hot Summers day when you're commuting to work, leather is not my friend! This beautiful leather skirt is from Urban Outfitters surprisingly, it was from their premium range last year over Christmas, the leather is 100% real and it really is perfect for Winter. I am conforming to the leather trend at the moment, I can't stop buying suede and leather garments and shoes. Leather is also a timeless fabric which is why I love it so much.  I matched the skirt with my favourite Free People jumper, this was supposed to be a snuggly Sunday jumper but it has gradually turned into one of my wardrobe staple pieces. I have been pintresting some outfit ideas for Autumn Winter so keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks I have some exciting content lined up!
