Wishful Thinking..NYE

Photography www.ionamacleod.com

Wow, what an amazing year it has been! This year has been full of challenges for me, there have been extreme highs which came with extreme lows, its probably been the year I have learnt the most about myself. After a year of neglecting my blog due to work commitments in 2013 I picked up where I left off this year and to be honest its been the best thing I ever did, this blog brings me so much joy, the shoots, the relationships I have made, the places I've visited and most importantly it's brought me and my photographer/best friend Iona closer than ever. A friend once told me that a blog is like a plant the more light, love and water you give it the more it flourishes, and it's so true!

I have a lot of fun things planned for 2016 so keep following me to see, I am also very excited to announce that I will be 'vlogging' in the new year (so keep your eyes peeled for that!).  Click the link below to read the full Free People blog post and find out what my NYE traditions are.

Poncho Made Perfect

Photography www.ionamacleod.com

Ponchos and Knee highs are my new two favourite things during Winter. These two garments marry each other in an outfit and are warm enough even without tights when the weather is as mild as it is in London at the moment. This Poncho is from Asterna Style, it's made from high qaulity fabrics so it feels lovely on. The boots are from Aldo, they are actually in sale now if you want to go grab them!

Keeping It Caj

Jeans- Aeterna Style
Jumper- H&M
Shoes- ASOS (Similar Here)

Last Sunday me and Iona ventured out to see Big Ben. Discovering new locations to shoot on is one of my main focuses at the moment, I love spending a whole day shooting/exploring to try make the shoot as productive as possible. As well as exploring London I get to share it with Iona and we always have a laugh.  This week I discovered a brand called Aeterna Style they do some beautiful pieces so make sure to check out their website. The distressed jeans have a stunning embellished patch on the right pocket which really adds that bohemian touch to them so of course I had to have them. The Jumper is an over sized fringed number from H&M (which is finally on the website now and a total bargain for those of your seeking a cheap Winter must have). I like to roll the sleeves back on my jumpers and I always buy a size 2 sizes to big for me, because what is a jumper without a slouch? The bag is from Free People (I know, I'm border line obsessed with them) and has now become my go to hand bag, even though its quiet a statement bag it surprisingly goes with everything, they do loads of different shades so be sure to click the outfit link to check them out!

Flares- Free People

Flares are a versatile investment regardless of what season it may be. I bought these flares earlier this year from Free People and I wear them day and night, Summer or Winter they are...the best. Sundays are when I'm usually seeking a comfortable effortless outfit and flares are a perfect option.

Wrapped up for Winter

Bra- ASOS
Jeans- Topshop
Shoes- ASOS

Trying to stay warm in Winter while still looking good, is one of life's small challenges. Remember the good old days when we use to wear Ugg Boots and hoodies, life was so much simpler? Now, unless you're going to the Doctors or the shops for a bag of potatoes,  you are committing a style crime, yes you.  The secret with Winter styling is layering, which makes it all the more expensive. It also takes much longer to plan an outfit because you have to piece together each layer. Now I am a London commuter I also have to take into consideration the commute and how to remove some of these layers in a state of 'flush' shall we say, we all get them..come on.

This beaaaaaaut coat is from Lovers and Drifters, again a brand I discovered on my good old friend ASOS. This bohemian chic clothing brand knows their sh*t when it comes to clothes, everything is absolutely to die for and a true statement piece.

5 cool things to do In London this Winter!

Hey guys, I have been following a few bloggers in the states and noticed that they have started doing blog posts about fun things to do in their own cities, so as I live in one of the biggest cities in Europe which also happens to be a Fashion Capitol,  I thought why not do a post about all the fun things you can engulf yourself in while visiting or living in London.
London is huge, theres no doubt about it but I love it, it means you never run out of things to do. I have been living here for two years now and you always meet people of all walks of life here, travelling, working, and absorbing the vibrant night life that London provides. So here it is, my top 5 things to try out (if you haven't already!).

Enjoy!

1. Selfridges, Forest Roof Top Bar- Yes, if you didn't know already, Selfridges on Oxford Street have opened a hidden roof top bar, it's been decked out to look like a forest (say what?! I hear you scream) go check it out, the cocktails are b-loody brilliant.

2.Mr Foggs Bar- Mayfair - A cute vibrant bar oozing with character. It's literally a hoarders dream, they have everything from bird cages to deer hanging from the ceiling its quiet spectacular. The bar is decades old and holds a lot of history! Try it out!

3.The Wild Flower Cafe | Notting hill- If your up for a scrumptious breakfast, or even brunch with the girlfriends on a hangover have no fear The Wild Flower Cafe is here..

4.Afternoon Tea- Library Lounge- If you want to be typically British, head over to The Library Lounge on the River Thames and enjoy spectacular views of Big Ben while enjoying some Afternoon Tea, who doesn't love tea and cake.

5. Yoga-The Shard- Fancy a yoga session in the clouds? Head up 1016 feet up in the air with views of London as far as 40 miles and try out Yogasphere, I am actually yet to try this out, but it's definitely on my to do list!
