Free People- AW15 Launch

Photography- www.ionamacleod.com

I am wearing;
Bag- Etui (Topshop Concession)
Jumpsuit- One Teaspoon (ASOS)
Heels- Aldo
Rings- Gallard Oblaine

Last Thursday evening Free People kindly invited me to come and join them for their pre London Fashion Week event to promote their new AW15 range, I was thrilled to receive the invite because as you know (if you've been following my blog for a while) they are one of my favourite brands.

The event was held at the lovely Dry By Salon, I stepped off of hustle and bustle of Regent Street and into what felt like what I can only describe as..Heaven. I was showered with complimentary manicures, champagne, canapés and a beautiful blow dry. Every inch of the Dry By Salon screamed luxury, from the marble tables to the impeccable service, I felt extremely lucky to be apart of it all.

One of my favourite parts of the evening was the postcards that were made by Dry By Salon and FP, for your blow dry you had a choice of 5 different girls with 5 different looks, it was amazing how even the drawings reflected the brand so well, each look was slightly different but still had that beautiful bohemian feel to them. I really noticed the amount of effort Free People had gone into making sure every detail of the evening was tailor made for us and how they intertwined the brand into such an enjoyable evening.

I was introduced to the lovely Lisa the Free People PR Manager who took me downstairs to the AW15 gallery, I discovered the range to be littered with gorgeous delicate fabrics, embroidery, heavy embellishment, snake skin shoes and suede accessories..any girls dream. The whole evening exceeded my expectations and made me love Free People even more than I already do!

Boho Meets Chic - SVW Collection

Photography www.ionamacleod.com

I am wearing;
Jumper- Free People
Skirt- SVW
Shoes- Primark

As much as I j'adore the Bohemian style, theres a time and a place and sometimes in the office (sadly) you have to reign it in and alter your look to fit in, in a professional environment. So here you have it, my work wear edit. My ideal work wear would be chic meets boho..which is why I mixed my usual casual pieces with SVW in this unique collaboration. This skirt is the black version of the skirt I have previously blogged about, figure hugging and fabulous i'd wear this skirt all day long. I paired it with my Free People Jumper, and my black pointed heels, because who doesn't love a good pointed heel.

Top 5 Boots for AW15 You Should Buy

I am in that phase where I'm clasping onto the last few sun rays of Summer when I should really be starting to build up my Winter wardrobe. However, whilst browsing the high street recently I discovered a few boots that I have mentally added to my wish list for payday. Every girl should have at least 5 shoes each season they can hop between. So here they are in all there glory, click the 'Shop Me' for the link.

SVW- Collaboration

Photography- www.ionamacleod.com

What am I wearing;

Skirt- SVW
Top- Weekend
Bag-Toyshop Concession
Heels- Topshop

I recently met with Sophie V Webb, designer and owner of new label SVW. Her range launches mid October for those of you wondering and its simply..fabulous. White has never been a colour I have predominantly gone for when I have been shopping for clothes. However if you have a statement piece for example my purple feather print bag in the above images, white is a great colour to wear in order to make things pop. It kind of stands as a canvas for colour where as black (as much as I love it) can often drown an outfit from its colour sometimes. This skirt is from SVW it stands for the designers name (Sophie Victoria Webb) check out her label if you haven't already. The skirt is made from a soft stretchy material but its very substantial and hugs you in (which is exactly what I need right now). I paired the skirt with my 'go to' Topshop heels and my 'go to' Weekend Tee.

I have lots of exciting blog content in the pipe line, including my LFW event with Free People for their AW15 range so keep your eyes peeled!

Autumn Attire

Photography: www.ionamacleod.com

I am wearing;

Top & Choker- Topshop
Jeans- Waven
Shoes- ASOS

Chokers for days, excluding those black stretchy plastic ones, they are criminal. I love this outfit, the inspiration for this came from the hippy chic trend that has stemmed from the boho vibes we were seeing all of SS15. This top is actually a co-ord with shorts but I love wearing them separately, the top is such an easy thrown on. These jeans I can't seem to get enough of, they are so versatile and comfy. Even though this outfit is loose fitting, the choker necklace makes it a little promiscuous, which I quiet like!

NYFW Highlights

This week I've been following New York Fashion Week across Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram religiously wishing I was there and absorbing outfit inspiration. I decided to collate some of my favourite looks from designers, bloggers and editors I liked in particular,

Enjoy!

All Hail Le Flare

Photography- www.ionamacleod.com

Flares- My favourite type of trouser, I never use to wear a lot of trousers or jeans to be honest but since the re-birth of the flare last year I've slowly started wearing them. These stunning Free People Flares are so comfortable I wear them on Sunday sometimes when I'm just mooching around my flat. Flares were not the only thing to carry on from Spring into Autumn (wow were there already, there I said it!). Lattice was a big trend this season, shops were selling a lot of lattice front tops and trousers, this particular number was purchased from no other than the lovely Topshop. The best thing about this top is that when you roll the sleeve cuff you can see the silk lining of the shirt, it also is a dream to wear becauses it's so soft.  To finish the outfit off I added an Accessorize fringe suede bag, yes thats right I bought another suede fringed bag from Accessorize (I can't get enough). The AW15 collection is d i v i n e.

The True Key To Happiness

If 2015 has taught me anything its do what makes you happy, one of my good friends recently told me she attended a lecture at her work, about true happiness and how it can be achieved. I was totally fascinated when she told me, that in order to maintain a healthy happy life you have to choose 5 things that make you happy (this could be as simple as going for a coffee with a friend) once you've chosen you have to make sure you do all of them at least once a week. Now, you might think 5? Thats quiet a commitment, but to be honest if it ensures your happy it's worth it. So in order to test this theory, I decided to try it out.

My chosen 5 things were,
1. Going for breakfast on the weekend (you may have noticed a few guilty eggs benedict pics on my instagram)
2. Going out with my girlfriends on the weekend
3. Going to my favourite coffee shop and indulging in a cappuccino and a cake
4. Eating Healthy in the week
5. Going to the gym

I can confidently confirm that the theory worked. I was more focussed at work, I was sleeping better, and overall had a more positive outlook on life.  You can switch different activities in and out of your routine so you that have variance. It didn't feel like a 'commitment' as such because it was 5 things I really enjoyed doing. I think its good for the soul to be pro-active, your happiness really depends on how much you want to be happy, plan your weekends, see your friends and do what makes you happy , you are in control after all..its your life. As much as its a struggle some days, going to the gym is so good not only physically but mentally it helps me focus and most importantly sleep, which over all helps me to function.

So there you have it, the key to happiness eternally isn't money, how many friends you have or what job you have, its all about you and the choices you make, so choose wisely.

Dreaming Of An Indian Summer

Word on the street is that we are in for an Indian Summer in London this year..I'll believe it when I see it until then, I'll keep dreaming. The inspiration for this look came from India, the top is actually made from Indian silk from a beautiful concession discovered in Topshop Oxford Circus, the colour is really vibrant and brings the outfit to life, I love it! You can also turn this top inside out, there is another gorgeous print on the inside. The fringed bag is from Accessorize, I've added this to my suede bag collection from them, they never seem to disappoint! I also bought a silk bohemian scarf in there which is beautiful (keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming blog post). I decided to do 'double suede' with the bag and the skirt both being suede, risky business eh? No actually, if you can get away with 'double denim' then suede on suede seems a total breeze! I really like suede, its perfect for Autumn Winter, because the fabric still keeps you warm but you don't need tights.
