Bringing Sixties Back

Photography www.ionamacleod.com

I am wearing;
Dress- Zara
Knee high boots- Aldo
Rings- Gallard Oblaine

The Sixties - an era my parents grew up in, and certainly a decade I wish I had experienced. The sixties were when The Beatles were born, the world was full of long haired hippies and beards. It was almost like the people who were living during the 1950's coiled up like a tight spring and then suddenly exploded during the 60's which introduced a different type of fashion community, hippies!  People felt more free and liberated and this reflected on there personal style, festivals such as Glastonbury & Woodstock attracted young free spirits floating around absorbing the music around them. The sixties have been making a huge come back on the catwalks, and this makes my heart warm. Knee high boots, short boxy dresses, bohemian floaty tops and head bands, the sixties are definitely making a come back and it doesn't look like its going to be making a swift exit anytime soon.  Edie Sedgwick and Cher were definitely some of the more influential woman during that time, its woman like these that I gravitate towards for outfit inspiration, them girls know how to dress. So here you have it my 60's inspired outfit, courtesy of Zara. Me & my photographer Iona thought it would be nice to mix things up a bit and add a vintage filter to this 60's blog post incase your wondering, Enjoy!

Made For Mesh

Photography www.ionamacleod.com

What am I wearing;
Mesh Top- SVW- Launching soon
Bra- ASOS
Trousers- SVW-Launching soon

Mesh- its been around for a few seasons now. I have always had at least one mesh top in my wardrobe for as long as I remember. I love putting funky patterned bra's underneath them because I think this instantly turns the garment into a statement piece which is exactly what I did here. This exquisite mesh body from SVW is easy on the eye, and its certainly a must have in the wardrobe. I paired perfectly with my SVW white palazzo trousers. This collection from SVW is launching at the end of October so keep your eyes peeled!

H&M Fall In Love With Yourself

I am wearing;

Scarf- Zara
Shorts- Glassons
Bag- ASOS (similar)

H&M Fall in love campaigne  http://www.hm.com/gb/fall-in-love

So as part of H&M's new Autumn campaign I thought I would jump on the band wagon and do a post about ways to fall in love with yourself this AW15! I couldn't really agree more with this campaign, I have been told on several occasions that if you don't love yourself first how are you supposed to expect someone else too? As much as I love going out with my friends this Autumn Winter I want to explore new things to do in London, roof top yoga, ice skating, the pillow cinema (don't laugh) are all things on my mental 'to do list'. As well as discovering new things to do in this beautiful city I want to also get a personal trainer. I have always been a firm believer that medicine is not the cure to..everything. Going to the gym can really pick me up if I'm ever feeling low or having a bad week, I don't know what it is but I see life in a more positive light when I go and I genuinely believe its good for your mind, body and soul, so there you have it!

Your Trend Report For AW15

Sometimes, with our everyday lives its hard to keep up with the most up to date current trends for the season, which gave me the inspiration to write this post. Most of us know from the Fashion Week shows in February what this AW15 will bring us, but just incase you forgot here you go;

70's & 80's- Its no lie we love working through the decades and recycling fashion trends and looks. Suede has made a huge come back this season, leading on from Spring Summer I feel like we can really enjoy the gorgeous fabric as its naturally very heavy weight and it is perfect for keeping us warm this Winter.

Faux Fur- This was a huge trend as seen on the catwalk by the likes of Stella Mcartney & Louis Vuitton. I usually always pay a trip to the local vintage market and buy a fur coat, I love them. A fur coat is definitely essential this Winter.

Vintage- theres nothing more rewarding than recycling old clothes that are in perfectly good condition and intertwining them with newer pieces in your wardrobe, it also makes your outfit unique and not just the next typical girl wearing head to toe in Topshop!

Rock Chic- Get your leathers out, rock chic is back! But this time with a twist of feminine silhouettes, shapes and fabrics, think Audrina from 'The Hills' with a splash of Lauren Conrad, the dream.

Bohemian- My favourite trend, where most of the inspiration for my outfit posts come from, it really is the heart of Fashion for me and a starting point for all of my outfits. Suedes, fringing, embellishments, ragged edges, denim there are so many different pathways to explore with this trend its huge for 2015 and this Winter its coming back bigger and better than ever.

Vibrant Velvet

Photography- www.ionamacleod.com

I am wearing;
ASOS- Velvet Kimono
Dress- Free People
Heels- Topshop

As soon as I bought this kimono me and Iona were really eager to shoot it, textures and vibrant colours always come out so well in the photos, they are also so fun to shoot. The kimono is a gorgeous velvet burnout with peacock feathers on, I love peacock feathers because it reminds me of my sternum tattoo you may have seen on my Instagram and the inspiration behind it. The Lace embroidered dress is from Free People (of course) I have worn it to a few festivals, it can be dressed up or down its beautiful. I've got lots of exciting content coming up for my blog, so keep following!

Happy Tuesday!
