Your Trend Report For AW15

Sometimes, with our everyday lives its hard to keep up with the most up to date current trends for the season, which gave me the inspiration to write this post. Most of us know from the Fashion Week shows in February what this AW15 will bring us, but just incase you forgot here you go;

70's & 80's- Its no lie we love working through the decades and recycling fashion trends and looks. Suede has made a huge come back this season, leading on from Spring Summer I feel like we can really enjoy the gorgeous fabric as its naturally very heavy weight and it is perfect for keeping us warm this Winter.

Faux Fur- This was a huge trend as seen on the catwalk by the likes of Stella Mcartney & Louis Vuitton. I usually always pay a trip to the local vintage market and buy a fur coat, I love them. A fur coat is definitely essential this Winter.

Vintage- theres nothing more rewarding than recycling old clothes that are in perfectly good condition and intertwining them with newer pieces in your wardrobe, it also makes your outfit unique and not just the next typical girl wearing head to toe in Topshop!

Rock Chic- Get your leathers out, rock chic is back! But this time with a twist of feminine silhouettes, shapes and fabrics, think Audrina from 'The Hills' with a splash of Lauren Conrad, the dream.

Bohemian- My favourite trend, where most of the inspiration for my outfit posts come from, it really is the heart of Fashion for me and a starting point for all of my outfits. Suedes, fringing, embellishments, ragged edges, denim there are so many different pathways to explore with this trend its huge for 2015 and this Winter its coming back bigger and better than ever.

Festival Capsule- Part 5- The Textured Dream

Photography- www.ionamacleod.com

Happy Thursday kids! I am off to Gotwood Festival today for four days so I thought I'd post something FUN. This is numero outfit 5 of my Festival Capsule for my Peekaboo Collab, and by far my favourite. This suede skirt is wonderful, its substantial in weight and is made from a really amazing quality suede, it also fits perfectly. I styled this with this gorgeous cream crochet crop top, its see through and a bit risky but thats why I laav it. I mean this outfit is just lovely in every way shape or form. I finished the outfit off with my handmade Peekaboo Vintage velvet cardigan, this card is exquisite, like most of their clothes! The stitching (image 7) is so so detailed its amazing, and he delicate fringing along the opening of the cardigan really does complete the outfit. The fringing of the skirt, the detail of the crochet top and the stitching on the cardigan this outfit really is to die for, for a festival goer.

Like this look? Head down to Topshop Oxford Circus TONIGHT from 6-8 for cocktails from Mahiki and a night of styling from Peekaboo Vintage for their Glasto pop up where the lovely stylists will help create your ideal look for festivals this summer!

Festival Capsule- Part 4 The Beads Knees

Photography- www.ionamacleod.com

This dress..really is the bee's knees. Its made from golden beads and drapes over the body like a glove. I added a vintage look belt to style it up and wore a backless body underneath, risky? sue me. The heavy Levis vintage jacket is a must with this outfit, I love it! The best thing about this dress is definitely the noise it makes, perfect for festivals and its super comfy.

Like what i'm wearing? head down to Topshop Oxford Circus on Thursday between 6 and 9 to find your Festival outfit for this Summer, with the help of the lovely Topshop Stylists you'll be sure to find something.

Festival Capsule- Part 3 'The Wanderer'

Photography- www.ionamacleod.com

Happy Friday! So for look 3 I took a bit of a risk, I was worried about this outfit (and for what?) it really works, the tassels clash wonderfully with the sequins, its chaotic but thats exactly what festivals are for eh, its the one time of year you get to where whatever the hell you want without the judging eyes. Tassels always capture well on camera and the outfit in general is so fun to wear, with every step you take! Your probably wondering wondering what is this tasseled piece, its technically a skirt, it has a waistband and I just wore 'nicker' shorts underneath to style it. The tassels are off white or 'cream' as some would say, its very substantial and drapes over the body like a dream. I paired the tasselled skirt with this beautiful sequined butterfly top, the sides are slightly cut out making it very flattering. To finish the outfit I popped on a gorgeous vintage Levis denim jacket, the skirt (although substantial) looks very light and delicate so you need to add some heaviness to the outfit to balance it out. I love this look, and would definitely wear it to Glastonbury Festival, its super comfy (even the sequin top).

Festival Capsule- Part 2 Bohemian Vibes

Hi Guys, so for part 2 of my 'Festival Capsule' I went for more of a traditional Bohemian look. If you like any of these looks from Peekaboo you will find them in Topshop Oxford Circus on the 11th June where Peekaboo Vintage are holding their Glastonbury Festival pop up shop so get yourself down there to get the best one of a kind bits for this Summer! The best bit about this outfit is by far the amount of detail on each garment, so lets start with this lace crop top. From the scalloped edge to the intricate vintage lace this top is perfect for layering up this Summer. The Fabric covered half moon buttons really add to that vintage look everyone craves after when they go for the Boho look. I paired this nicely with this beautiful suede fringed waist coat, as you can see from the second image an enormous amount of work has gone into this jacket, its impressive in photos but even more impressive in real life. The fringing is blended with delicate feathers and beads which really complete the outfit, adding a unique flare. Because the top half is quiet..busy to say the least, I chose these leather high waisted shorts with the side detail on. All three garments marry extremely well together and and really complete the perfect 'Glasto' outfit!

Peekaboo Vintage- Festival Capsule (part 1)

Photography- www.ionamacleod.com

So I'm super excited to announce my most recent collaboration with Peekaboo Vintage Clothing. Over the coming weeks I will be posting 5 of my favourite festival outfits for the Summer.
Last Thursday Peekaboo opened their doors to me and allowed me to enter their wonderful office of beautiful chaos. It was a bloggers dream to say the least.. clothes e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e!  I first discovered the brand in Topshop Oxford Circus (bottom floor) where all the other concessions are. I absolutely love vintage shopping but I have to be in the right frame of mind to do it, its a long hard task and you have to dedicate a whole Sunday to give time to mooch from store to store, however the reward is amazing when you find some true vintage gems. With Peekaboo Vintage they do all the hard work for you, and every piece is one of a kind so if I see something I like its an instant purchase (which also makes it dangerous!).

So first up, this stunning sequin dress. The detail on this piece is exquisite. My favourite part of the dress is definitely the embellished choker around the neck. I also love the wavy hem around the bottom of the dress, it really gives it shape and the sequinned tassels gives the dress movement which was captured well on camera!

Their Festival range will hit down on the 11th of June, where they are holding a Glastonbury Festival pop up shop so go check them out! They stock on ASOS Market Place and In Topshop Oxford Circus.

Orange Is The New Black

Well I don't know about you but the weekend has wiped me out! So I thought I'd throw a nice casual outfit on the blog today, something simple, comfy, and easy to put together. Orange is the Marmite of the colour spectrum, to me anyway. I don't feel like I've ever really appreciated it until now, styled correctly orange can really make (or break) an outfit. I have to admit when styling an outfit, orange has never been top of my priority list but for some reason this top has converted me, I can now confidently say I am a lover for orange. The top is from ASOS who also stock it in black, I have both colours because I love it so much and its just so dam versatile. I've paired the orange wrap top with a ripped mom jean I purchased from a vintage store last year, I watched a youtube video on how to rip your own jeans, and there I was with a kitchen knife hacking away at my newly purchased vintage find. The jean is quiet loose fitting but because the top is so low cut it needed toning down a little. To break the outfit up I've added in my leather Topshop belt with a silver buckle, the bag is also Topshop and adds texture to the outfit, its half smooth leather and half suede with a snake skin affect on it. The chunky heel is from Urban Outfitters from last year, I've had them a while now but they just don't seem to age...The triangle bra under my orange top is from ASOS, its a beautiful set, you can't really see it from the images so I've popped an image of the set below for you to see!
